This update introduces deep linking for both Android and iOS, updates the iOS builder for compliance, and resolves notification redirect issues.

  • Status Bar Design support for the Splash Screen — a separate status bar style can now be set specifically for the splash screen.

  • File download notification was unreliable, especially on iOS — replaced with an in-app popup notification shown when a download starts or finishes.

This update adds backend-level iOS permission messages required by Apple and fixes two compatibility bugs affecting certain websites and notification behavior.

  • Microphone Usage Description — the message shown to users when the app requests microphone access (Info.plist).
  • Location Usage Description — the message shown to users when the app requests location access (Info.plist).
Fixed
  • Websites using caching technology with screen-size-dependent elements were sometimes rendering incorrectly — resolved.
  • Receiving a new push notification was previously removing the previous one from the tray — all notifications now accumulate until cleared or actioned.

  • Custom one-colored notification icon can now be uploaded — displayed in the Android status bar when a notification is received.
  • Android App Logo now uses Adaptive Icon technology — automatically displays as squared or circular based on the device theme. All new builds include this, and rebuilding existing apps will also apply it.

This is a foundational rebuild of the Appilix platform. Apps are now as fast as their underlying websites, and a suite of new customization options has been introduced.

  • App Orientation control — force the app to run in portrait or landscape mode.
  • Fullscreen App mode — run the app without a visible status bar.
  • Content Zooming — allow users to pinch-to-zoom the app content.
